編舞者由「鏡花水月畢竟總成空」的偈語獲得靈感作舞。舞蹈動作則根據熊衛先生所創「太極導引」的原理發展成形。水月，以清泠、冥想式的氣氛貫穿全舞，美得令人沈醉。它反映了表象與本質，著力與不著力，男人與女人的關係
There was a Buddhist proverb, "Flowers in a mirror and the moon on water are both illusive". The correlation between essence and appearance, effort and effortlessness, man and woman are all explored in this stunningly beautiful and poetic dance work. Water, mirrors, light and reflections play an important role and produce striking visual effects, to which the austere contrast between the black staging and teh white-clad figures also contributes. In Moon Water, Bach's cello compositions and Lin Hwai-min's Tai Chi movements give the impression that they have been waiting for each other for centuries.
